Going to give myself and business plug.
I been working with a small company called simplecomtools. Projects include collecting machine data and reporting it to various portals using modems and ethernet in a multitude of formats, sms, email, ftp, instant message, udp and tcp packets, as well as implementing the various portal protocols out there. I have also designed and developed hardware interfaces to collect and control analog, digital, wiegand, rs232 and rs485 data over modems or ethernet.
I plan on using the foundation to send the above data as well as OBD, GPS and J1939 data to the ublip portal and develop our own Web interface.

thanks,
Bill Crum

Welcome! That sounds exciting and we’d be interested in learning more about your J1939 efforts. If there’s anything we can assist with on the Foundation end of things then please let us know.

this is great, i am trying to do the same things, implementing a standardt communication protocole over the aire for all the J1939 & J1979 can data.

but are you using SCT hardware or building up yours, because i am looking for the best hardware solution that includes an ODBII (J1939) interface with a GSM/GPRS modem, but i don’t want to have a GPS chip on it.

let the force be with you
